About Carolyn Solo
Hi, and welcome.
I’m Carolyn Solo. I’m the owner and founder of Integritas Wellness and Recovery, and I’m so glad you’ve made your way to our corner of the internet.
A bit about me: I love cats, cooking as long as I don’t have to clean up, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the Great British Baking Show, and real estate reality shows. In my free time, I love to be outside, hiking, running, skiing, or biking – embracing joyful movement for movement’s sake. I’m a foodie and I am actively anti-diet. I used to be a Latin and Greek teacher, which makes me just a tiny bit of a language nerd. I’m a mom of three girls, and a survivor of birth trauma and postpartum depression.
I am passionate about working with women who are survivors of sexual trauma and who want to be able to live a peaceful and connected life in its aftermath. I also care deeply about working with women through all stages of the parenting journey – fertility, pregnancy, pregnancy loss, birth, and postpartum. I’ve struggled with all of those stages and I want you to know that there is hope.
My primary treatment modality is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – a holistic approach to treating trauma that is backed up by strong scientific evidence. I think it’s time for the field of therapy to move beyond just talk; to get out of the brain and into the whole body, where trauma actually lives.
I’m a 2014 graduate of Bryn Mawr College Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research – whew, that’s a mouthful! I’m a licensed clinical social worker in the state of PA.
I am also a current doctoral student in Social Work and my research centers on developing more culturally sensitive and trauma-informed approached to working with clients with psychotic symptoms.
I’m certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have advanced training in EMDR for survivors of complex trauma and abuse and in EMDR for perinatal mental health concerns.
